Description

The Wuhou Shrine in Chengdu is a magnificent complex dedicated to the heroes of the Shu-Han Kingdom during the Three Kingdoms period. As China's only temple that jointly worships both the emperor (Liu Bei) and his prime minister (Zhuge Liang), it holds the prestigious title of 'Three Kingdoms Holy Land'. The shrine features over 50 statues of Shu-Han heroes, numerous stone tablets, and inscriptions about Zhuge Liang and Three Kingdoms culture. Visitors can admire the famous 'Red Wall with Bamboo Shadows' near Hui Tomb - a perfect spot for traditional costume photography. The beautiful bonsai garden and classical landscape design create an immersive historical atmosphere. Adjacent to Jinli Ancient Street, visitors can easily combine their cultural exploration with sampling Chengdu's famous snacks and experiencing local folk culture. The recommended route includes the Ming and Tang steles, civil and military official corridors, Han Zhaolie Temple, Wuhou Shrine, Guihe Tower (with seasonal lotus viewing), Hui Tomb, Kongming Garden, bonsai garden, and Sanyi Temple before exiting near Jinli.
