The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is a world-renowned facility dedicated to conservation, breeding, and research of the giant panda, an endangered species native to China. Located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, the base aims to protect and increase the panda population through various scientific methods.   • The Chengdu Giant Panda Museum is closed for maintenance on Mondays, except for China’s statutory holidays.Bamboo Tower is closed for maintenance on Tuesdays, except for China’s statutory holidays, and will be shut in case of unfavorable weather. The Panda Art Museum is closed for maintenance on Mondays, except for China’s statutory holidays.
  • Please keep at least three-meter distance from free-range animals and red pandas on an entry-type tour during visit.
  • Please do not sit or stand on the railings and other dangerous places, and do not climb over guardrails
  • Giant pandas are intolerant to heat. When the weather is cool, giant pandas will be active in the outdoor arena. But when it is hot, for their health, giant pandas will go back indoors to avoid the heat. Sorry for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
  • In order to protect the welfare of animals, the animals inside will be free to go in and out of the indoor and outdoor fields. At some outdoor fields, visitors may not be able to see the animals; in cases of bad weather, natural disasters, or enclosure due to construction, maintenance, and breeding, some sites may be temporarily closed.

How to use tickets

Tourists can pass through the channel for ticket verification without an ID Card after presenting e-ticket QR codes and the corresponding Passport used to purchase tickets according to the time and date of visit.
